The Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser USS Chancellorsville (CG 62) arrived in Busan, Republic of Korea (ROK) for a scheduled port visit, Oct. 16.

The scheduled port visit is an opportunity for Sailors to experience the culture and history of the ROK, as well as foster outstanding relations between the U.S. Navy and the local Busan community.

"The crew has worked extremely hard during this patrol and we are all really looking forward to this port visit," said Capt. Wilson Marks, Chancellorsville commanding officer. "This visit to Korea is a great opportunity for us to continue to build relationships and for the crew to get some well-deserved rest."

While in port, the ship's Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) committee will provide a variety of tours and trips for the crew. The various trips include tours of the shopping district of Osan, a day trip to the city of Seoul and the Korean Demilitarized Zone.

While some Sailors are excited for exploring the nearby areas, other Sailors are excited for the native cuisine.

"This is my first time in Korea," said Petty Officer 3rd Class Justin O'Neal. "I have heard so many great things about the food and I am looking forward to actually being able to try it myself."

Chancellorsville is on patrol with Carrier Strike Group (CSG) 5 supporting security and stability in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
