The Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Donald Cook (DDG 75) arrived in Gdynia, Poland, for a scheduled port visit, April 8.

The port visit serves to enhance U.S.-Polish relations as the two nations work together for a stable, secure and prosperous Baltic region and Europe.

The ship's presence in the Baltic Sea is a demonstration of our continued commitment to the collective security of NATO under Operation Atlantic Resolve.

Engagements such as this strengthen the bonds between the U.S. and our allies and partners as we work toward mutual goals.

Press conferences with local media will occur with Sailors aboard Donald Cook.

Donald Cook will host a reception for United States Embassy and Polish government officials.

Donald Cook Commanding Officer Cmdr. Charles Hampton will conduct office calls with the mayor of Gdynia; Commander, Maritime Operations Center; and Commander, 3rd Flotilla.

Donald Cook, forward deployed to Rota, Spain, is conducting a routine patrol in the U.S. 6th Fleet area of operations in support of U.S. national security interests in Europe.

U.S. 6th Fleet, headquartered in Naples, Italy, conducts the full spectrum of joint and naval operations, often in concert with allied, joint, and interagency partners, in order to advance U.S. national interests and security and stability in Europe and Africa.
