USS Porter Departs Israel

Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Porter (DDG 78) departed Haifa, Israel, April 15, after completing a scheduled port visit.
Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Porter (DDG 78) departed Haifa, Israel, April 15, after completing a scheduled port visit.

The visit served to enhance U.S.-Israel relations, reaffirm a commitment to security and peace within the region, and offer Porter Sailors a chance to visit historic sites.

Quick Facts:
Porter participated in the annual trilateral naval exercise Noble Dina 2016 with U.S., Hellenic and Israeli naval and air forces, March 31-April 14.

Porter visited Toulon, France, for a scheduled port visit to enhance U.S.-France relations, March 18.

Porter, the third of four Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyers to be forward deployed in the U.S. 6th Fleet area of operations, arrived in Rota in April 2015.

U.S. 6th Fleet, headquartered in Naples, Italy, conducts the full spectrum of joint and naval operations, often in concert with allied, joint and interagency partners, in order to advance U.S. national interests and security and stability in Europe and Africa.
