The information warfare's training organization, the Center for Information Dominance, recognized top civilian employees recently for both civilian of the year and civilian of the quarter for the domain.

The mid-grade COY is Mark Wagemann from CID Unit Hampton Roads, and the senior-grade COY is Kirk Fernandez from CID headquarters. Pamela Alexander from CID headquarters is the 2016 first quarter mid-grade COQ, and Charles "Chuck" Kenneth Williams from CID Learning Site Hawaii is the 2016 first quarter senior-grade COQ.

Wagemann, a system administrator in the CID Unit Hampton Roads N6 Systems directorate, serves as the training classified training network lead system administrator for what is the command's largest training network. His many accomplishments included spearheading a significant upgrade with the install of the Virtual Desktop Environment, while also making sure a web browser upgrade was executed with no interruption to training. He routinely led major information technology projects and ensured compliance with cybersecurity requirements.

Fernandez, an IT specialist for network and systems analysis at the headquarters, coordinated the deployment for the web browser upgrade throughout CID's domain, covering 1,684 workstations across four geographically dispersed learning commands with no interruption to training. He also helped establish a cost effective extension of the IT of the Future network into the information systems maintenance courses of instruction at CID Unit Hampton Roads and San Diego, and he re-authored a significant annual maintenance contract.

Alexander, the executive assistant for CID headquarters' commanding officer, was commended for her level of support from coordinating the commanding officer's schedule during high visibility events to arranging visits to campus locations throughout the domain. Alexander's responsiveness and travel preparations for the front office leadership were performed with flawless skill.

Williams, a training instructor for network analysis in Hawaii, stood out for developing a network incorporating a virtual machine network to replicate a submarine's and surface ship's local area network. This configuration allows warfighters to experience complex scenarios and troubleshoot and repair a system in a controlled laboratory environment. He was instrumental in resolving critical IT issues.

CID, with headquarters at Naval Air Station Pensacola Corry Station, delivers information warfare professionals to the Navy and joint services, enabling optimal performance of information warfare across the full spectrum of military operations.
