NNOA to Host Annual Conference

The 2016 National Naval Officer Association (NNOA) Professional Development and Training Conference is scheduled to be held at the Brashear Conference Center at Joint Expeditionary Base in Little Creek, Virginia, July 19-21.
The 2016 National Naval Officer Association (NNOA) Professional Development and Training Conference is scheduled to be held at the Brashear Conference Center at Joint Expeditionary Base in Little Creek, Virginia, July 19-21.

NNOA's mission is to enhance sea service operational readiness by providing professional development, mentoring, and recruiting support in an effort to achieve a diverse officer corps that reflects the demographics of the nation.

This year's conference theme is "NNOA, Engaged and Committed to Developing Sea Service Leaders!"

Conference approval has been authorized for Navy participation. All Navy-funded registration requests must be coordinated through the Navy Office of Outreach and Engagement (OPNAV N134).

Pending funding approval, Navy will sponsor registrations for 66 Sailors, including 30 non-local area attendees. Travel approval must be requested through N134. Funding for Sailors' travel must be covered by individual commands. Travel costs shall not exceed $1,500 per person. Commands outside of the 30 approved travelers shall not fund registrations and are not authorized to fund lodging, transportation, meals and incidental expenses.

Lunch will be provided throughout the conference for those in attendance. Non-provided meals must be purchased by the attendee. The uniform will be summer whites for Navy personnel.
