Carter Hall's port visit was both an opportunity to strengthen the partnership between the United States and the Netherlands, and a chance to increase mutual cultural awareness.

While visiting Amsterdam, Carter Hall Sailors and Marines had the opportunity to tour historical sites and museums in the Dutch capital, sample the local food and drink, and even tour a World War II battlefield south of the city.

A community relations event also brought Carter Hall sailors together with youth from Big Brothers and Big Sisters Amsterdam for an afternoon tour of the dock landing ship.

Carter Hall, homeported at Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek- Fort Story in Norfolk, is conducting naval operations with allies and partners in the U.S. 6th Fleet area of operations in order to advance security and stability in Europe.

U.S. 6th Fleet, headquartered in Naples, Italy, conducts the full spectrum of joint and naval operations, often in concert with allied, joint, and interagency partners, in order to advance U. S. national interests and security and stability in Europe and Africa.
