USS Laboon CMC Relieved

The command master chief of guided-missile destroyer USS Laboon (DDG 58), based at Naval Station Norfolk was relieved of his duties today by Commander, Destroyer Squadron 22.
The command master chief of guided-missile destroyer USS Laboon (DDG 58), based at Naval Station Norfolk was relieved of his duties today by Commander, Destroyer Squadron 22.

Command Master Chief James Roberts was relieved of his duties by Capt. Derek Granger based on findings from an investigation into allegations that Roberts fostered a toxic work environment and failed to follow Navy regulations and command instructions.

Roberts has served as Laboon's command master chief since September 26, 2014. He has been temporarily reassigned to Commander, Naval Surface Force, Atlantic.

The new command master chief is not yet identified.
