The Defense Personal Property System (DPS), the Department of Defense system used for Household Goods shipments, experienced an outage July 19-20.

The outage was caused by a disk corruption which made the DPS database unavailable to users. At no time was any personally identifiable information compromised.

Customers who made DPS entries between the hours of 1:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. CDT July 19 should resubmit their information. This includes information such as claims, shipment applications, or making any updates to your address or contact information. Anyone with an active DPS shipment or claim should review DPS entries to ensure all information is current.

The Surface Deployment and Distribution Command (SDDC), executive agent for DoD's Personal Property Program, is also letting customers know to go back into DPS and confirm records are up-to-date.
