Lt. Cmdr. Will Hollis relieved Cmdr. Kenneth Jalali as officer in charge of the Center for Naval Aviation Technical Training (CNATT) Det. Eglin during a change of charge and retirement ceremony Aug. 5 at the Bayview Club on board Eglin Air Force Base.

CNATT Commanding Officer Capt. Terrence Hammond presided over the ceremony as staff and students witnessed the change of charge ceremony and Jalali's subsequent retirement from active duty after 30 years of service.

Jalali served as the first officer in charge of CNATT Det. Eglin, standing up the command and leading the 65 U.S. Navy and Marine Corps staff in transitioning the organization from the U.S. Air Force's 359th Training Squadron. While at the helm, Jalali also validated more than 3,000 hours of curriculum, received approval for 13 courses and oversaw the qualification and certification of the first Navy and Marine Corps F-35 maintenance instructors.

CNATT Det. Eglin develops, delivers and supports aviation technical training necessary to sustain the fifth generation F-35 Joint Strike Fighters and is a part of CNATT.

CNATT is the technical training agent for the Naval Aviation Enterprise (NAE), an organization designed to advance and sustain naval aviation warfighting capabilities at an affordable cost, and is the largest training center under the Naval Education and Training Command.
