Quote:
"We're glad to be a part of this important exercise and work side-by-side with our allies and partners to exercise mine countermeasures and counter-IED
response capabilities. This type of operation builds interoperability with
other explosive ordnance disposal units so that we can work more closely
together in the future and exchange best practices."
-Lt. Cmdr. Jake Keefe, executive officer, EODMU 8

Facts:
Nations scheduled to participate in the exercise this year include Denmark, Germany, Sweden, Norway, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Belgium, Netherlands, Poland, France, Canada, Finland and the United States.

During the exercise, maritime forces will work side-by-side with counterparts from partner nations - both on land and at sea.

Northern Coasts 16 provides the opportunity for personnel of participating nations to engage in realistic maritime training to build experience, teamwork and strengthen our interoperability as we work toward mutual goals.
