USS Carney (DDG 64) arrived in Haifa, Israel, for a scheduled port visit, Feb. 21.

While in port, Carney's crew will engage with their Israeli counterparts in an effort to enhance U.S.-Israeli relations as the two nations work together for a stable, secure and prosperous region.

Quotes:
"This should be a great visit. I am most excited to visit one of the Israeli ships here in Haifa, and to host them in return. By seeing each other's ships and learning how each other work, we are building relationships ashore that will be expanded upon at sea when we work together during exercises and operations."
- Lt. Dylan Ross, USS Carney supply officer

Quick Facts:
The U.S. Navy routinely visits Haifa. USS Porter (DDG 78) conducted a port visit in July and again in August, while USS Laboon (DDG 58) and USS Ross (DDG 71) conducted a port visit in March.

This port visit provides Carney Sailors with the opportunity to meet the people of Israel and experience the rich history and culture of the country. Carney is expected to conduct officer exchange tours with Israeli ships in port.

Carney, an Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer, forward deployed to Rota, Spain, is conducting a routine patrol in the U.S. 6th Fleet area of operations in support of U.S. national security interests in Europe.

U.S. 6th Fleet, headquartered in Naples, Italy, conducts the full spectrum of joint and naval operations, often in concert with allied, joint, and interagency partners, in order to advance U.S. national interests and security and stability in Europe and Africa.
