Logisticians from Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) Fleet Logistics Center (FLC) Jacksonville Det. Key West commemorated the 221st birthday of the U.S. Navy Supply Corps on Feb. 23.

Following tradition, the oldest and youngest military member at the ceremony cut the birthday cake.

This year's honor fell to Joint Interagency Task Force South J4 Chief Maritime Logistics Cmdr. Lisa Morris and Logistics Specialist Seaman Harlen Markley, Aviation Support Det., Naval Air Station (NAS) Key West.

Logistics specialists from various units in the area attended the ceremony. Lt. Howard Milligan, site director for NAVSUP FLC Jacksonville Det. Key West, spoke to the crowd about the history of the Supply Corps and changes to the enlisted rating.

"It's important to highlight the logistics support that takes place in Key West," said Milligan. "Supplying JP-5, aviation repair parts and providing maritime support are key areas of logistics support here."
