Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) Fleet Logistics Center (FLC) Bahrain hosted several members of the Royal Saudi Naval Forces (RSNF), Feb. 21 - 25.

The exchange provided NAVSUP FLC Bahrain and five RSNF sailors an opportunity to discuss hazardous material handling procedures and best practices used by both parties.

"It was a wonderful opportunity to exchange practices and ideas with each other," said Lt. Cmdr. Mohammed Al Naser, RSNF.

This is the first of many exchanges that will occur throughout the year between NAVSUP FLC Bahrain civilians, Sailors and local civilians. In addition to sit-down meetings with RSNF personnel, NAVSUP FLC Bahrain personnel provided hands-on demonstrations of some of the practices used in Bahrain.

"This exchange of subject-matter experts provides an excellent opportunity to strengthen a valuable regional partnership through the advancement of logistics interoperability," said Lt. Anthony Castleberry, logistics advisor RSNF, Eastern Fleet.

Discussed topics included practical applications, hazard communications, safety data sheets, personal protective equipment and forklift operations.

"It is a fantastic chance for our personnel to engage and build relationships with our partners in this AOR," said Capt. Sean Egge, commanding officer NAVSUP FLC Bahrain. "We look forward to strengthening our collaboration and continuing the exchanges in the future."

NAVSUP FLC Bahrain has more than 160 military and civilian personnel providing logistics support in the 5th Fleet area of operations. The command is one of eight fleet logistics centers worldwide in the NAVSUP Global Logistics Support (GLS) enterprise.
