Naval Supply Systems Command Fleet Logistics Center Norfolk announced its Work Team of the Quarter, during a Feb. 25 ceremony at Naval Station Norfolk.

According to Household Goods Audit Team Director Evan Brockington, the Government Arranged Moves Team of Kimberly Monn, Phyllis Harris, Celene Long, Cora Jones, Ernest Taylor, and Aurea Reed was awarded for their efforts to help streamline the standard operating procedures for processing and auditing government arranged moves.

"I am very proud of the audit team," Brockington said. "They got together, came up with a vision and have embodied it. They are a very talented group of individuals that collectively are amazing."

He added the team was formed in August and comprised of auditors who had already individually had ideas of how to streamline the process, were customer service oriented and produced quality output. Once the group was formulated they worked well together incorporating their ideas and best practices.

"The ability of this diverse group to work together and except each other's ideas was instrumental in their winning Work Team of the Quarter," he added.

The team has worked closely with Quality Assurance and the Collections Team, he said. They have processed over 4,500 government arranged move claims this quarter resulting in recouping more than $1.5 million in excess costs owed to the government as they worked together to develop, implement and train their fellow Household Goods Audit Team members, lending their extensive knowledge to create standard operating procedures.

He added that these operating procedures will enhance customer service.

"They take pride in providing good customer service and in doing so, it adds to the quality of life for the warfighter," he said.
