Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Stout (DDG 55) welcomed two distinguished visitors March 8 while pierside at Naval Station Norfolk.

U.S. Deputy Secretary of Defense Bob Work and retired Israeli Air Force Maj. Gen. Dan Harel, director general of the Israeli Ministry of Defense, visited Stout for a shipboard tour and press conference lead by Cmdr. Adam Cheatham, commanding officer of Stout.

"The visit went very well," said Command Master Chief (CMC) Ronald Glass, Stout's CMC. "The crew got an opportunity to show what we have here on the ship. Any time we have an opportunity to cooperate with our fellow nations is great, and we couldn't have asked for better weather."

Work, Harel and their respective staffs toured the ship's combat information center, bridge, mess decks, forecastle and were also greeted by several Sailors from the various departments aboard Stout.

"We want to thank the people of Norfolk, this is truly a Navy town," said Work. "We could not be prouder of our partners, the Sailors and the ships they man."

Stout is currently preparing to depart Naval Station Norfolk for composite unit training exercise (COMPTUEX) prior to its full deployment scheduled for summer 2016.
