The commanding officer of Naval Computer and Telecommunications Station (NCTS), Sicily, located at Naval Air Station Sigonella, was relieved of her duties, Nov. 23, by Commander, U.S. Fleet Cyber Command/U.S. 10th Fleet Vice Adm. Jan E. Tighe.

Cmdr. Regina Cox was relieved of her duties by Tighe due to loss of confidence in her ability to command after a command investigation into improper civilian hiring practices.

Cox has commanded NCTS Sicily since Sept. 2014. She has been reassigned to Naval Information Dominance Forces, located in Suffolk, Va.

U.S. Fleet Cyber Command serves as the Navy component command to U.S. Strategic Command and U.S. Cyber Command, and the Navy's Service Cryptologic Component commander under the National Security Agency/Central Security Service. Fleet Cyber Command also reports directly to the Chief of Naval Operations as an echelon II command.
