Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Southeast civilians, contractors and military leaders met with Mark A. Tumeo, Dean of the University of North Florida College of Computing, Engineering and Construction, at NAVFAC Southeast headquarters April 21 in Jacksonville.

The Executive Officer of NAVFAC Southeast Capt. Scott Hurst started off the meeting expressing the importance of these types of sessions and talked about the importance of finding future NAVFAC leaders.

"Today's meeting with Dr. Tumeo was a very important first step in creating a dialog between future engineers and NAVFAC," said Hurst. "We are looking for the best and brightest to join our team."

Members of the command went around the room talking about what they do and whom they serve, the command's area of responsibility, career progression, benefits, and why NAVFAC Southeast is a great place to work.

Once the brief was presented to Tumeo, he took time to express the importance of these information exchanges. He went on to share what the students at the University of North Florida are learning and expressed the importance of gaining a better understanding of what NAVFAC's role is in the Navy as well as the local community.

"All in all, it was a great meeting and we look forward to building a relationship with UNF," said Hurst.
