NAVFAC Southwest Awards $30 Million for Architectural, Engineering Service

Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Southwest awarded a $30 million contract, Aug. 3, for multi-discipline services for large projects in NAVFAC Southwest area of responsibility (AOR).
Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Southwest awarded a $30 million contract, Aug. 3, for multi-discipline services for large projects in NAVFAC Southwest area of responsibility (AOR).

The contract was awarded to Joseph Chow and Associates Inc. of San Francisco, California.

"With the award of this architectural and engineering service contract to Joseph Chow and Associates Inc., we at NAVFAC Southwest look forward to utilizing their proven experience to investigate, plan, and design facilities using creative and innovative approaches to meet NAVFAC Southwest's mission and, ultimately, support the warfighter's needs," said Dan Waid, NAVFAC Southwest supervisory general engineer.

Joseph Chow and Associates Inc. will provide preparation of request for proposals for design-build projects; design-bid-build construction contract packages; site investigations to support new development of facilities on raw land and redevelopment of existing facilities on developed sites; studies and reports related to the designs of new facilities, renovation and repair of existing buildings; cost estimates; and post-construction award services.

Work will be performed at various Navy and Marine Corps facilities and other government facilities within the NAVFAC Southwest AOR which includes California, Arizona, Nevada, Colorado, New Mexico and Utah, and is expected to be completed by August 2020.
