As Navy Region Southeast force protection staff specialist, he led Commander, Navy Installations Command catalog ordering logistic tracking systems training for 17 region installations and security officers. He also played an important role during four separate regional operational assessment and assistance program visits, during which he evaluated training and reviewed physical security programs for more than 200 naval security force personnel.

Williams' collateral duties include command fitness leader, command financial specialist and being involved in the command's mentoring program. He is also the treasurer of the First Class Petty Officer Association and has devoted 10 off-duty hours to volunteer work during the quarter.

"I'm delighted to know that I'm seen as a great representative of the command and a positive role model for Sailors," Williams said. "It has always been a goal of mine to be a positive influence to Sailors and show that hard work and dedication will not only improve one's self, but also those with whom I may come in contact."

Schulte, who is from Clarkston, Michigan, is a trumpet specialist assigned to the Navy Region Southeast Band. He is a part of the wind ensemble, ceremonial band, brass band, and is a ceremonial bugler. He also dedicated 85 volunteer hours, using his music arranging skills at several local music organizations.

"I am honored to be selected as the Junior Sailor of the Quarter for Navy Region Southeast, especially considering the quality of Sailors against whom I competed," Schulte said. "This is the first award I have received since I've been in the Navy."

Individual selection criteria for the awards were based upon exemplary performance of tasks, contributions that enhanced organization accomplishment of command objectives, mission, teamwork or public image, and one's professional attitude toward self and others.
