Senior Chief Naval Aircrewman (Helicopter) Erica Gibson was the first woman aviation Navy search and rescue (SAR) swimmer to become a senior chief petty officer (2018). Gibson is a mother of three and serves in the Navy Reserve. She is currently assigned to Commander, Naval Safety Command in Norfolk, Virginia (2023).
