Senior Chief Culinary Specialist Dominique Saavedra became one of the first woman to serve aboard a Navy submarine. She was the first enlisted woman to earn her submarine qualification, or “dolphins” (2016), while embarked aboard USS Ohio (SSGN 726), just prior to deploying aboard USS Michigan (SSGN 727).
