CLJA claims are filed with the Department of the Navy and are separate from claims for disability benefits and compensation filed with the Department of Veterans Affairs. While different, both types of claims may be filed concurrently.  Settlement offers resulting from CLJA claims filed using the Department of the Navy claims process will not impact benefits or programs administered by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).
