A federal law enacted on August 10, 2022, that allows certain individuals, including veterans, who were previously exposed to contaminated water at Marine Corps Base, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, between August 1, 1953, and December 31, 1987, to file a claim for damages with the U.S. government.
The filing deadline set forth in the Camp Lejeune Justice Act (CLJA) was August 10, 2024. The Department of the Navy (DON) is no longer accepting new CLJA claims. Further, we are unable to grant any exceptions to this filing deadline. The DON has no authority to alter statutory language drafted by the United States Congress and enacted into law.

The Camp Lejeune Claims Unit (CLCU) reviews your claim and supporting documents. CLCU sends you (or your attorney, if represented) a portal message requesting additional information or documents. If your claim is eligible for the Elective Option, CLCU will make you a settlement offer.
